Program Contents
At Hozenji Temple, known as “Mizukake Fudo,” you will experience sutra copying and making your own "gozamori" (talisman). After spending a quiet time to face yourself while listening to the deputy priest, you will experience kaiseki cuisine at Hozenji Asakusa, a long-established kappo restaurant located next to the Hozenji temple gate. First, there will be a mini-guide on the charm of Hozenji Yokocho and the secret story of its restoration.
This is a special program of high quality and full of Naniwa atmosphere.

- Each applicant is limited to one program and two people per person. Applications for more than one program will be considered invalid. (Excluding "Ebisubashi Roundup")
- The person who applies must attend the event. Please note that the application is not transferable to another person. If two people apply, the person accompanying the applicant can be changed. (To prevent duplicate applications, the person accompanying the applicant cannot apply. Please understand).
- Please do not bring infants.
- Please pay the participation fee at the registration desk on the day of the event (please keep the change).

Hozenji Temple

It is known for its mizukake fudo, a statue of a water sprinkler that is used by merchants and visitors to the temple to pray for their wishes. It is well known as a unique temple in Japan with Hozenji Yokocho, where long-established kappo restaurants, small eateries, and bars are located in the precincts of the temple.

You can taste seasonal delicacies such as fugu (blowfish), hamo (eel), and suppon (soft-shelled turtle) as well as kaiseki cuisine that makes the most of seasonal ingredients. The restaurant has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, and some rooms overlooking the grounds of Hozenji Temple are available.

(Seasonal appetizers, hamo (conger eel) and bamboo shoots soup, fresh fish sashimi, specialty suppon manju, grilled sea bream Wakasa, soft-boiled abalone, deep-fried blowfish, Japanese beef steak, meal, and dessert) The menu is subject to change depending on the availability of seasonal ingredients. Beverages are not included, so please order and pay if you wish. Dinner is scheduled to be served after 5:00 p.m. after the Shakyo experience.
